Barker\nArietta Ward\nAnandi\nEmily Wilder\nMarcia Hocker \nThis year’s Billie Holiday Tribute night is curated and emceed by Jazz Journalist Association – Jazz Hero Award winner Marcia Hocker. \nThis event brings together musicians of many genres to pay tribute to one of the greatest jazz singers and songwriters of our time. Billie Holiday\, also known as “Lady Day\,” was an American jazz singer and songwriter. Holiday was a hugely formative influence on jazz and pop singing.  \nHer vocal style\, strongly inspired by jazz instrumentalists\, pioneered a new way of manipulating phrasing and tempo. Above all\, she was admired all over the world for her deeply personal and intimate approach to singing. \nThe 15th Annual Billie Holiday Tribute Night is a celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month\, Billie Holiday’s birthday month and her 107th Birthday. \nSiren Nation promotes and showcases the original work of women artists by creating year-round performance\, exhibition\, and educational opportunities. \nA portion of each ticket sale will also be donated to Portland Opportunities Industrialization Center and Rosemary Anderson High School\, which provide services in education\, mentoring\, family outreach\, employment training\, and placement to underserved communities\, primarily people of color. https://www.portlandoic.org/ \nSiren Nation is a Portland-based nonprofit whose mission is to inspire and empower women of all ages to create their own art and to highlight the many achievements of women in the arts. \nOur organization welcomes individuals who self-identify as female\, trans\, non-binary or gender non-conforming to apply to and participate in all Siren Nation events. \nThank you for supporting Siren Nation during the coronavirus pandemic. \nReview the Alberta Rose Theatre’s Health & Safety Policies HERE.
