Emerging Leaders Board
Siren Nation is establishing its founding Emerging Leaders Board for creators under the age of 40 to help diversify, expand, and continue to empower women of all ages to create their own art and highlight the many achievements of women in the arts.
The Emerging Leaders Board will work alongside the Siren Nation Board of Directors to organize the annual Siren Nation Festival, Dolly Parton Tribute Night, Billie Holiday Tribute Night, Siren Nation Speaks series, and other fundraisers and events in Portland.
The Emerging Leaders Board will be given space to create new events and projects to further promote Siren Nation’s mission. We encourage you to bring your own ideas and help make them happen.
The Emerging Leaders Board will also provide networking opportunities leveraging Board relationships and events, identify prospective mentors within Portland’s professional arts community, build relationships with fellow creatives, and gain hands-on nonprofit philanthropy experience.
Siren Nation will respect and support the work of the Emerging Leaders Board and will commit to sharing space and dialogues to explore inclusivity and promote core values within the organization.
Emerging Leaders Board expectations and responsibilities:
- 1-year commitment, with an option to serve up to 2 consecutive years
- Volunteer for at least 1 event in a leadership or administrative position
- Attend in-person/call-in monthly board meetings or mixer event
