Siren Nation, amplifying the voices of women in the arts for the last 15 years, is proud to present Siren Nation Speaks—a new monthly online series of workshops, talks, and performances.

Join us as we showcase diverse Oregon/PNW female artists every second Sunday of the month, with events ranging from performances and interviews to hands-on workshops and tutorials! Launching this February 14, our Valentine to you is a fun and creative way to learn, celebrate, and listen to women in the arts.

Friendship Valentine Zine Workshop

This Valentine’s Day, Sarah Mirk joins us to lead a special friendship Valentine zine-making workshop! All skill and experience levels are welcome, and there’s no cost to attend. The only supplies you’ll need are paper and pen/pencil.

Register for our free workshop!

February 14, 2021, at 1 p.m.

Sarah Mirk is a graphic journalist, editor, and teacher. She is the author of Guantanamo Voices (Abrams 2020), an illustrated oral history of Guantanamo Bay prison, which Kirkus called “extraordinary… an eye-opening, damning indictment of one of America’s worst trespasses.” She is also a zine-maker and illustrator whose comics have been featured by The Nib, The New Yorker, Bitch, and NPR.

Siren Nation Speaks is an exciting new part of Siren Nation’s mission as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to inspire and empower women of all ages to create their own art, and to highlight the many achievements of women in the arts, as well as artists of other marginalized genders who feel comfortable in inclusive women’s spaces. Events are free and open to all.
