This event is online only, you'll receive a link by email.
Next match-up deadline: Submit Google Form by Friday, December 4, 2020
Here are a few of the esteemed womxn creators who will be in the mix for the December 2020 matchmaking:
- Elizabeth Dye (@elizabethdye) – Clothing Designer & Small Business Owner
- Connie Wohn (@wearepartyanimal) – Event Planning / Social Justice Events
- Sarah Griffow (@upsweptcreative) – Creative Director for Upswept Creative
We have all seen the various impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly on arts communities anchored around in-person collaboration and performance. While many things remain uncertain about the stability of landmark arts institutions, timelines for potential reopenings, and the pandemic itself, Siren Nation continues to be committed to supporting womxn creatives in the Pacific Northwest.
For this reason, the Young Creatives Collective is launching a virtual matchmaking networking program for all PacNW womxn in the arts. All womxn-identifying creatives are welcome—whether you are a veteran in the professional arts world, an aspiring professional artist, or a person with a day job but a passion for arts on the side, we would love your participation. YCC leaders will pair two participants together, make the introduction, provide suggested conversation prompts, and instructions for setting up a Zoom, Google Meet, or FaceTime.
The creative industries are currently in uncharted waters. In these times, sharing expertise, advice, and support feels especially important. We’re hoping this will be an ongoing program, with new pairings every other month.
Interested? Please fill out this simple Google Form by Friday, December 4, 2020, to help YCC with the matchmaking.
Note: For those who indicate an interest in receiving mentorship, we will do our very best to pair you with one of our volunteer mentors, such as the creatives highlighted at the top. That said, this is a new program and we can’t be totally sure the numbers of mentors and mentees will balance out, so it is possible you’ll be paired with someone closer in experience to you. Networking and support can take many forms!
Please reach out to the Young Creatives Collective leaders, Kanani Koster (kanani [at] cherrystreetfilms [dot] com) and Julia McPherson (juliahmcpherson [at] gmail [dot] com) with any questions.
